Why are you an MMA fighter?
Mixed Martial Arts is a lifestyle, it is the way of the warrior and the ultimate test for the body and mind.
What makes someone a fighter?
Almost anyone can with a mouthpiece and pulse can hop in a ring or cage but to me a fighter is a true warrior who pours his soul into his craft. His body and mind are forged through blood, sweat and tears. His will and heart tested in battle.
What are your goals in MMA?
I just want to test myself and my training while I’m still young enough. I hope to leave a winning record and leave it all on the mat.
How would you describe your fight style?
I like to fight where my opponent is weakest that what is so beautiful about MMA. My strategy involves striking hard and often, minimizing damage taken while looking for takedowns and submissions.
What's your favorite thing about fighting?
It’s a crucible, and weakness in preparation will always come to light. On a practical level I like that it very closely simulates self-defense hand to hand fighting.
How did you get started in fighting?
I started training boxing and the found a passion for BJJ as a young Marine stationed in Quantico, VA.
What do you know about your opponent and how do you expect this fight to go down?
I know my opponent is a man that is willing to step into a cage with someone who has prepared for battle to about to show the world what he’s got. I give the highest mutual respect for that. I trust my preparation will pay off and expect my hand will be raised.
What do you like to do outside of MMA?
I love being outdoors; Sailing, fishing, hunting, yoga and hiking.
What is your life motto?
Carpe Diem, Show up, dig deep and always do your best.
Who has been the most inspirational person in your life and why?
I have been inspired by all those who have dug deep to find the power to transform, and strive to show up with the best versions of themselves every day. All strength comes from within.
What is something people should know about you?
I’m a warrior and this is my journey. I’m on the war path and ready for battle.
