How did you get started and what made you decide to be an MMA fighter?
I always wanted to do martial arts of sort. I entered a traditional karate dojo one day with some friends. Saw a MMA class going on in the back and tried it. Ever since then I’ve been at it.
What makes someone a fighter?
I feel like how you handle certain situations. Whether it be fighting or life. How you handle and overcome what’s in front of you will determine what kind of fighter you are.
How would you describe your fight style?
I don’t think I have a style. I can grapple, I can strike. I feel comfortable in both areas at this point in my game. I love to strike and that was my first love.
What’s your favorite strike/submission to use in a fight?
Whatever is needed in competition I guess. Lol. I like it all. I feel like a got a lot of weapons. I’ve got things I’ve never used.
What's your favorite thing about fighting?
My favorite thing about fighting is the rush and the people you encounter on one's journey. I’ve met so many great people.
If you could start your fight career over, what would you do differently?
I definitely would’ve practice my grappling more for my first fight, which I lost.
How do you feel about your upcoming fight?
I feel great. I’m ready to go right now. Just working on the little things now.
What holes do you see in your opponent’s game?
I don’t know much about my opponent other than he might be looking to grapple. Which I am ready for.
How do you think the fight is going to end?
I don’t know how it’ll end. MMA is crazy, anything can happen.
What are your goals in MMA?
To go pro eventually and do this for a living.
If you could have one dream fight with any MMA fighter, who would it be?
I’ll like to fight Brandon Moreno. I like him. He fights hard. Which I feel like I do. It’ll be a good show.
What do you like to do outside of MMA?
I’m pretty typical. I like to watch sports, play video games, and hang out with my brothers.
What is your life motto?
"Things can always be worse, be grateful."
Who has been the most inspirational person in your life and why?
This sounds crazy. But I look up to my little brother a lot. He’s a good man. And I wish to be that way one day.
What is something people should know about you?
I’m far from perfect. I have demons I fight with everyday. It’s not easy. But no one is. Let’s not forget we’re all human.
