How did you get started and what made you decide to be an MMA fighter?
After my football career, I decided to stay active and start training MMA. I did Taekwondo from the age of 7 to 17 so thought I'd pick back up on martial arts.
What makes someone a fighter?
Everybody can fight, we fight every day in life. The question is how much can you withstand...
How would you describe your fight style?
Freestyle. I pretty much go with the flow. I like to stand up, but I have good wrestling.
What’s your favorite strike/submission to use in a fight?
I like to keep it simple. I like the 1-2 and roundhouse kick.
What's your favorite thing about fighting?
Competing with myself and pushing myself to see how far I can go. You are your only competition.
If you could start your fight career over, what would you do differently?
I would start much earlier. I started training MMA on my 29th birthday.
How do you feel about your upcoming fight?
I feel good. This will be a good fight for me to see how well I put things together.
What holes do you see in your opponent’s game?
I haven't seen any footage on him, so I wouldn't know. I've seen a picture and he pays to be short, so that could be in my favor.
How do you think the fight is going to end?
Whichever hole he leaves open, I'm pretty well-rounded in all areas.
What are your goals in MMA?
To dominate in my next two fights, and to go pro before the end of the year.
If you could have one dream fight with any MMA fighter, who would it be?
Conor McGregor. I think we match up great.
What do you like to do outside of MMA?
I'm a professional videographer and photographer. I also like to work out, period.
What is your life motto?
Enjoy the journey, and be the best version of yourself.
Who has been the most inspirational person in your life and why?
My mother. I've seen her overcome so much, she made so many sacrifices for me as a youngster.
What is something people should know about you?
I'm here to make a statement, and to leave my mark on this Earth.
Is there anyone you would like to thank (sponsors, family, gym, etc.)?
My coaches, trainers, teammates and family for sacrificing their time with me when I need to train. I do it for them.
