How did you get started and what made you decide to be an MMA Fighter?
A friend from high school invited me to train at his gym in the summer going into my sophomore year. I was instantly hooked. Right after graduation, I decided MMA was for me and started training full time.
What makes someone a fighter?
Mental strength more than physical. A person that is willing to take a punch to the face and keep moving forward. A person that pushes themself to win even when he/she is tired.
How would you describe your fight style?
I am a striker at heart. My goal is to take your head off, but I have no problem going to the ground if need be.
What is your favorite submission/strike to use in a fight?
My favorite strike is the side kick. To keep my distance and set up my next move.
What is your favorite thing about fighting?
Entertaining the people watching. They came to watch us fight so I want to give them their money's worth.
If you could start your fight career over, what would you do differently?
I would start at a younger age. I'm only 20 years old. I can only imagine where I would be if I trained at a younger age.
How do you feel about your upcoming fight?
I am more excited than I am nervous. I want to show everyone watching what I am capable of.
What holes do you see in your opponents game?
I noticed he uses a lot of head movement. If he ducks his head that won't be good for him.
If you could have one dream fight with any MMA fighter, who would it be?
How do you think the fight will end?
I want an early stoppage. I'm going to tire him out and finish him in the first or second round.
What are your goals for MMA?
MMA is my life. I want to achieve a good amateur record and go pro by the age of 23. I eventually want to go to Bellator or UFC.
What do you like to do outside of MMA?
I am a video editor and photographer outside of MMA. I also spend a lot of time with my family and close friends.
What is your life motto?
Look me in the eyes. For my eyes will tell you more then my words ever will.
Who has been the most inspirational person in your life and why?
My Father. He is the hardest working person I have met in my life and everything I achieve is dedicated to him.
What is something people should know about you?
I am the most laid back person you will ever meet.
Is there anyone you would like to thank?
I'd like to thank my parents for always being there for me through everything. My coaches and teammates for preparing me for this fight, and my close friends who are always there for support. (You know who y'all are.)
